Our client is building a new live-streaming sports experience by combining some of the largest media brands in the world. Content will be delivered across every device and platform to audiences around the world.
We are looking for a Sr Web Video Player Engineer to help them grow. This specific team will focus on the web video player experience and work closely with the Engineering, Product, Project Management, and Backend Services teams to build out various video player features. This platform will stream high-volume concurrent live feeds, so team members should have some experience supporting live events and/or OTT video streaming. Check it out!
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, NodeJS
- Experience building components to support video playback, user interfaces, video metadata, and third-party integrations
- Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing, and end-end testing
- Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, Agile methodologies
- Excellent documentation skills, UML diagrams a plus
- Advanced English
Extra
- Experience with video streaming technologies (HLS)
- Experience with video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, JW Player
- Experience with analytics platforms (Conviva, Segment)
Responsibilities
- Conduct the design, architecture, and implementation of player features on Web and web-based platforms (Chromecast, Xbox, Vizio, Samsung Tizen)
- Work on performance, scalability, security, architecture, and engineering best practices
- Provide technical specifications and documentation
- Collaborate with team members to deliver software using agile methodologies
- Enjoy to stay up-to-date with the latest in emerging technologies/trends on web platforms
