UI Designer

Job Description

Our client is a well-known established American newspaper who has won 26 Pulitzer Prizes and has been noted as “one of the nation’s most prestigious papers”.   

They are looking for a UI Designer, as they are redesigning multiple areas of their digital experience, including the check out experience, listing pages, tutorial screens, new page layouts, and recently started putting a design system in place. There are two brands and they are looking to make them look more similar to one another across all touchpoints.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with UI Design
• Understanding of the end user’s visual experience.
• VX methodologies and processes knowledge
• Experience with programs such as invsion, sketch, and photoshop.
• Knowledge of Universal design standards. 
• Experience delivering across desktop, mobile, native and responsive platforms. 

Responsibilities 

• Advocates for accessibility and modern design practices. 
• Advocate for consistency and quality in the brand’s presentation.
• Maintains a customer-focused and brand compliant iterative design approach. 
• Creates design rationales based on user research and customer feedback. 
• Actively collaborates with other designers, content producers, developers, and stakeholders.
• Communicate with product team members about project scope, level of effort, goals and expectations. 
• Proactively seeks and gives feedback.
• Works on design team efforts such as; style guides, brand audits, etc.
